Trip for a Lifetime: Day 27 Celebrate Jesus

In all this you greatly rejoice, though for a little while you may suffer in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold— may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:6-7

I don’t know about you, but I am sure that you have faced trials that you weren’t sure if you could get through. You couldn’t envision what life was going to look like on the other side. You couldn’t wrap your mind around what normal was going to be.

For some, during this pandemic it has only been an inconvenience. I am thankful that I fit in this category. For others, it has become one of those trials that you can’t even think straight; the kind that causes you to have a volcano of emotions you can’t get under control.

There are those who have lost loved ones, family was not able to have a funeral. There are those who have brought new life, that family couldn’t join in celebrating. There have no gatherings for the beginning or the ending of life.

Celebrations of graduation, weddings, birthdays as well have been lost to this virus. There seems to be very little celebrating going on. It was nice that on Easter we are able to celebrate the empty tomb. That sacrifice allows us to be reconciled to our Heavenly Father.

I have been lifting up in prayer all the people who have had a very hard time over the last month; the ones who have lost loved ones; those who have missed important celebrations; the ones who have been hit hard financially because of losing their job. I lift up the healthcare and front-line responders who are constantly being exposed to Covid-19. Finally, I lift up business owners & bosses who have had to let employees go and the individuals who are stuck at home by themselves.

What a great day to celebrate the resurrection. Nothing can separate us from our eternal home. The story that God is writing for us is not uncertainty but certainty in the life to come and the peace that He promises now.

When I fix my eyes on Jesus, the trials of this world grow dim.
