Trip for a Lifetime: Day 13 On the Road Again

(Day 11-12 rest stop)

Mark 1:35-37 (Jesus went to a quiet place so he could pray)

Mark 14:23 (Jesus went up into the hills to pray alone with God)

As I was praying the other night, the Lord impressed on me how I was already being conformed to a new routine. He told me that my time with Him had already become less land less. The daily routine had taken over. Even writing this blog has become part of the routine. You need to take a break from doing the same thing as you did yesterday. Take a break from this new lifestyle. In it you have also forgotten to take a break and spend not only quality time with people you love, but spend quality time with Me.

When I was coaching, one of the principles I tried to teach was that if you do the same thing you always do and expect a different result, it isn’t going to happen. For instance, in golf if you slice the ball and want to stop, you must change your swing. If you swing the same and expect the slice to go away its not going to happen. Even though our daily life has been significantly altered, we can fall into a routine that again does not allow time for intimacy with the Father. That is the reason I took a break from the blog. I would encourage you to find rest from your daily routine.

Now, back on the road.... as Willie Nelson might say “on the road again”. Changing the lyrics a little, it might look like this...”On the road again, I just can’t wait to get on the road again. The life I love is making a difference with my friends, I’m going places that I’ve never been. Seeing things I may never see again. I just can’t wait to get on the road again.”

God has called you to “such a time as this “. He has prepared you for this time. The world is worried about how contagious COVID-19 is. I am concerned about whether I am contagious enough. Is my hope contagious? Is my strength contagious? Is my encouragement contagious? How about my peace, comfort, and joy? If I carry the Spirit of God with me, then I am contagious to those around me. There may be social distancing, but that doesn’t mean spiritual distancing is in effect.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

What are you spreading?!
