Trip for a Lifetime: Day 10 Lost

Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or left your ears will hear a voice behind you saying “this is the way. Walk in it.”

Today a couple of people I spend time with confided in me that they were almost at a stand-still. They felt completely lost. They were not sure if they should stop or go. They didn’t know if they should turn right or left. Fear was beginning to creep in. They were beginning to have a panic feeling. I can remember when I was in my early twenties and had gone on a hunting trip. The place I was going I had been to many times. I had spent a lot of my youth in the outdoors. One morning when I was going to stalk some deer I got completely lost. There was no sun because of it being overcast. I could not use the sun for direction ( you can always use the SON for direction.). I had stalked the deer for a long ways. The surroundings looked all the same. There was a lot of post oak and they all looked the same. The pasture was about 1000 acres under one fence with very few roads. The more I tried to find out my location or the direction to my shelter the more confused I became. Fear began to creep in like never before. I was on the verge of panic. I then remembered two things to do when your lost: be still and be quiet. At that time, in the far distance, I heard a pump jack that was pumping oil. I knew where this well was located and was able to establish my position. The entire ordeal took about three hours for me to relocate where I was and what direction to go from here. I can still remember the fear that I felt when I didn’t know where I was and knew that nobody else did either. This trip we are all on can cause us to loose our direction and what we should do next. It can cause us to not make any choice because we are afraid it might be wrong. I encourage you to be still and listen for your guide (Holy Spirit). It is no different when your car’s GPS says “recalculating” when you are lost. God’s positioning system will help you navigate through these trying times. Also, seek Godly counsel before you make a quick decision. They should encourage you, comfort you, and strengthen you.

Additional verses:

Isaiah 41:13 I am the Lord. I will hold your right hand. Do not fear.

John 16:13 When the Holy Spirit comes he will guide you.

Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you in the way to go.

Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and lean not on your own understanding. Submit and he will make your path straight

Watch for the lost. If you’re lost look to the SON for direction.
