The Gift of Hope

The first gift that came to mind that I received from GOD was HOPE.

The place I was in when I found the LORD was disappointment, failure, and eventually despair. When I cried out to the LORD I was at a point where I thought the only way to get relief was to just end my life. I really didn’t think he would want anything to do with me. I was a person who I didn’t like and didn’t think anyone else did; not even God so why would He help.

How thankful I was that the storybook character of JESUS was much more than that. How thankful I am that He didn’t mind getting in the mess I had made. How He wanted to help me out of that mess. That day He became my Savior, my rescuer, my best friend. I couldn’t believe He still loved me.

I don’t know where you are in your walk with God or through life, but I do know this, you have had your ups and downs. If you are like me, too many times I let this life get the best of me. God didn’t say life was going to be easy. In fact He lets us know that it is very difficult. I hope you have put your trust in God and not yourself or man.

What I have found is that the God of the valley is God of the mountain. The God of the night is God of the day. Yes the God of the bad times is God of the good times.

This world is a very difficult place. If you put your trust in money, people, or yourself, you are just a short distance from disappointment, failure, and even despair. As the lyrics from the old hymn tell us “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Blood and righteousness. On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.”

Disappointment are going to come. Failures are going to happen. Life is going to look like the winner many times. These failures and disappointment don’t have to have the final answer.

When your HOPE is in JESUS that kind of HOPE energizes and motivates, which causes us to step out in faith. This HOPE believes boldly, decides daringly, and speaks firmly. This kind of HOPE overcomes feelings of fear, anger, sadness, and worry.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬

LIVE A LIFE OF VICTORY THROUGH THE STRENGTH OF JESUS.
